So, I'm working on new songs, getting back to the fiddle, for better or worse and pushing back against gravity. Next Saturday I'm at the Outpost in Fancy Gap from 12-2. Come on out and check out all the cool things Karen has for you while you listen to some good music!

I'm tending to feral cats that have made their home at the corner of my house. Took them and got them fixed so no more cat babies. Now I'm putting food out for them.🙄 but honestly, it also feels good to care for a couple of God's creatures they didn't ask to be born. Maybe that'll inspire a song? Is the creativity muse tapping your shoulder? If so, what's it saying? Don't ignore it too long or it'll go and find someone else!

It's a beautiful day in Southwest Virginia. A beautiful day to make Music and a beautiful day to be alive!

back to the work grind on a Monday morning

I loved playing with the Dads Rock group at Buffalo Mountain Brewery in Floyd today. It was amazing, so much fun! What a great group of folks.

Well hello there! It's been a minute since my last post, so here's a quick catch-up.

I've been busy putting new performance videos up on YouTube — my three newest shorts are "Do Over Sober," "Turn Around and See," and "There's nothing left here to remind me but the memory of your face." You can watch them all on my channel, @stairwaytoblevins.

I had a wonderful time playing at Outerspace in Floyd on September 13th — thank you to everyone who came out. I'm lining up more dates now, so keep an eye on the Shows page for where I'll be playing next.

Oh my gosh I neglected this for sooooo long! Ok I am back and busier than ever. Please check out my upcoming performances page. I will be playing at Outer Space in Floyd Va. 11-2 July 12th.  The Outpost in Fancy Gap Va. 4-6 July 17th and the Farmer's Market Bassett Va. 10-1 July 18th. Many more dates after that. I'm excited and looking forward to seeing everyone out and about!

Making plans for New Years while trying to recover some from Christmas. It's nice to have family to do things with for New Years. It's nice to be together and celebrate, even reflect. It's also a time be thankful and consider what the New Year will bring. I feel as if I am always evaluating and retooling and rethinking my approach, not just in crux of the yearly crossover. What are you thinking about for New Years?

Christmas is just days away and that anticipation is in the air. That old song “Pretty Paper” written by Willie Nelson and first made popular by Roy Orbison, still rings true. Yes the streets are crowded, the feet are busy, well where I live the car tires are busy. Even with all the online sales cars clog up the streets getting to the strip malls. I remember when strip malls where not the thing and indoor malls were all the rage. Next thing you know indoor malls are on their way out. Still no matter how things change there still is some of that excitement in the air. We got some snow here in Virginia that we don't usually get, making it feel a little bit more like the holiday season. The weather is cool not too cold. It's shaping up to be a nice time of year to be at home with the family. No matter how you celebrate I wish you a very merry! Talk soon,
